Farmers Insurance District 35 is the Farmers Insurance District Office of Central Texas, led by District Manager Melissa Casillas. Our mission is straightforward: empower Austin's future insurance agents, develop their skills and careers, and produce entrepreneurs across Central Texas who are ready to serve their communities.
We believe that the right combination of mentorship, training, and opportunity can turn driven individuals into thriving business owners. That belief is the foundation of everything we do.
Melissa Casillas didn't set out to run a district office; she set out to keep growing. After building and running a top-producing Farmers agency in Scottsdale, Arizona, she realized the next step wasn't just running a bigger book of business; it was helping other driven people become successful business leaders like her. If being Rookie of the Year didn't let her know this was the right move, building her agency to be in the top 1% of all Farmers Insurance Agencies in the country definitely did. Melissa is now proud to be in Austin, leading The Austin District, Farmers Insurance's District 35, as District Manager.
Proudly based in the heart of downtown Austin, Melissa, with the help of her district staff, is building The Austin District to give Central Texas entrepreneurs the same growth she experienced as an agency owner, and the mentorship to get there faster.

The Protégé Program is an 8–12 month, paid program that sets you up as an insurance agent apprentice. Under the guidance of a highly producing agent, you'll learn the ins and outs of insurance, sales techniques, and customer service strategies necessary to start your own agency. Once you complete the program, Farmers can provide various avenues to ensure your business journey is ready to begin.
